4 ambitious Turkish youngsters started it. And it is spreading like wildfire.

Moral of the story is simple:

Designers are creating google logos for Turkish special days, in seek of google hearing them (or better say in seek of google hearing us -- since I too am a Turk)

There are really nicely designed logos on the showcase page.

Can google hear us?

I bet they can.

Or more importantly:

Does google currently hear us?

I bet they do.

Will google care about what we do?

I guess they should.

Did you know that google jobs has a myspace profile,

I recently discovered it while upscooping my social networks.

Don't get confused if you simply see "bob" as a profile. The profile e-mail is directly bound to jobs[at]google[dot]com. Which means any message you send to that profile directly goes to jobs[at]google[dot]com.

And guess what, I sent an invitation for my beta web service linkibol to jobs[at]google[dot]com.

I guess

1. I will either get an automated response,
   
   
2. Or someone from google hq will find my contact info and ask what linkibol is
   
   
3. Or nothing will happen

Anyway it was fun.
Waiting for the consequences of it :)

I replied to an anonymous comment on my adeventure about using tags instead of folders for categorizing files.

But it worth repeating here imo.

The comment says:

I don't know how the tagging program you're using works but file>open might really be useless in some programs, no?

But "setup.exe and another setup.exe..." is absolutely no problem
(you're still thinking in folders man)

Let us assume we have two setup.exe one for my favorite chess program jose, and one for my favorite browser firefox (as you can guess).

My mental process would be as follows:

label setup.exe for firefox as
setup, browser, installation, firefox

label setup.exe for jose as
setup, chess, program, jose, installation

... and when I make a multi-label filter it's easy cheesy to find each of those programs

for firefox
the tags: browser, setup, firefox
will point to exactly what I want.

for jose similary
the tags: chess, setup, jose
will directly point to the setup file of jose.

...

I'm gonna share all these (and more) in detail but I'm really busy with other stuff.

The only thing I can say for now is:

tagging my files made my life easier than ever.

• I don't use my destkop,
  
  
• I rarely (if ever) use windows explorer
  
  
• I never use windows start button (and start menu, and quick launch)
  
  
• I never use any program shortcuts...

Free as in Freedom



As you know sardalya was free for uncommercial use up to now. And currently it's free for everyone.

You heard it right. Many thanks to those of you who have purchased a commercial license. From now on I'll be distributing sardalya with a fairly generous LGPL license.

... just a tiny bit of contribution to the world of free sofware.
